This wasn’t planned but in the landscape photography business graciously accept unexpected gifts.
It started out being a location for tonight’s full moon.
Just a shot of the moon over the top of the mountains when the sunset would light up the cliff faces.
The planned shot didn’t work out but when the sun had already dipped well beneath the horizon its afterglow lit up the south-western walls of Wilpena Pound in the central Flinders Ranges.
The beautiful colours lasted about a minute…maybe two before fading slowly into darkness.
